About the event
BIO Asia-Taiwan is one of the premier, annual biotechnology events in Asia. In 2023, more than 120,000 exhibition visitors from 56 countries and 800 exhibitors joined BIO Asia-Taiwan. The event is a highly effective platform for your company to explore business opportunities and connect with key industry players. Participation offers a wide range of activities, including exhibition, conference and business matching and networking events.
Austrade Taipei is now inviting key Australian biotech companies to join its bespoke program at BIO Asia-Taiwan from 24 to 28 July 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan. The highlights of Austrade program consist of the following:
1. Australia-Taiwan Biotech Collaboration Forum, 24 July
This Forum is a platform to promote Australian biotech capabilities and competitive advantage to an audience of likeminded Taiwanese biotech companies interested in commercial partnerships. The Forum offers value-added experiences for Australian business such as speaking opportunities and a one-on-one business matching program.
In 2023, the Forum attracted 130 executives from 80 major biotech organizations followed on-site by over 120 one-on-one business matching meetings.
2. Exhibition at Australia Pavilion at BIO Asia-Taiwan, 25-28 July
Share collective space to display your industry capabilities at the Australia Pavilion and to connect with new contacts and engage with existing contacts.
In 2023, the Australia Pavilion at BIO Asia-Taiwan was one of the largest and busiest platforms for Australian companies to showcase Australian clinical trials and biotech capabilities.

Payment
Clients are expected to cover:
Austrade requires payment upfront for all international events. The payment term is 7 days from invoice date and your place is not fully secured until the entire fee is paid.

Insights about Taiwan BioTech industry
• Taiwan's healthcare system ranked the world's best (Numbeo, 2022)
• Taiwan’s biomedical industry continues to experience steady growth valued at A$33.7 billion revenue in 2022. The total number of biotech companies in Taiwan (healthcare and digital medicine excluded) increased to 2,350 with 2.6% growth in 2022.
• Taiwan Government commits to expand the biotechnology industry into a NT$1 trillion (AUD49 billion) value industry through various initiatives, established biomedicine clusters and tweaked policies to achieve this goal.
• The Taiwan Government set to launch 20 new drugs and 80 medical devices to global markets by 2025. Over ten biotechnology and health-related flagship brands to be fostered globally per the Biomedical Development Plan, driving a strong need for clinical trials and licensing-in of new IP to grow Taiwan’s biomedical sector pipeline.
• Australia-Taiwan Health and Biotechnology Partnership signed between the Australian Office and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs in May 2023 provides a framework for further collaboration in key biotech areas.
• Taiwan is highly rated in the world competitiveness rankings - the 7th in the world and the 3rd in Asia (World Competitiveness Yearbook, IMD, 2022). Taiwan continues competitiveness through open market & level playing field for all companies, local and international.
